A Start

This blog has been a long time coming… but better late than never right? Let’s start with a little history...

Countless things have happened since Element Church started on that fateful day in October (the seventh to be exact), not the least of which was the launch of Fusion Student Ministries. At that time, we met on Wednesday nights and Saturday nights at our humble abode on the south side of Cheyenne. That first week, we had 3 junior high and 2 senior high/college-age students. About a month later we had grown to about 7 and 5 respectively, and designated the groups as JV and Varsity. By mid-December, the JV had outgrown our home and we moved into the church office on Lincolnway. The Varsity grew a little more slowly until around the new year when relationships began to take root, we switched nights to sundays, and we expanded to as big as 20 on some nights.

Today, both the JV and varsity run consistently between 10 and 15; but the numbers are only a reflection of Fusion’s real purpose – impact! We are watching students' lives being transformed from death to life. We see them grow closer to Christ and mature in their spiritual walk. We see them bond with each other. And most importantly, we have seen them develop a passion for intimacy with the King of Kings!

It’s been a roller coaster ride, but we’ve loved every minute of it. We are now in the middle of the LIFE Program with the JV and in the middle of a world-changing book called “Butterfly in Brazil” with the Varsity. God has only just begun the work that he is about to do among the youth in Cheyenne… I just hope to be a part of it.
